The Adopt A Ship Program connects students with the global maritime industry by bringing real-world experiences directly into the classroom. Through this unique educational initiative, students gain a firsthand understanding of life at sea, global trade, marine environmental protection, and the many careers that support the maritime industry.

Recognized internationally, the Adopt A Ship Program pairs classrooms with professional mariners serving aboard commercial vessels around the world. Over the course of six to eight weeks, students correspond with senior officers through weekly emails, follow their vessel’s voyage on a map, and participate in engaging classroom activities, assessments, and virtual meetings when available. This interactive experience helps students build global awareness while connecting classroom learning to real-world maritime operations
