MPSEC – Exploring MARAD’s Center of Excellence Education Programs
February 9, 2022 @ 4:45 pm - 5:45 pm

MPSEC is delighted to partner with Tall Ships America to explore the US Maritime Administration’s Centers of Excellence Program. We will hear from Gerard Wall, the Centers of Excellence for Domestic Maritime Workforce Training and Education Program Manager for the U. S. Maritime Administration’s Office of Maritime Labor and Training alongside Captain Sarah Hirsch of Orange Coast Community College, Captain Jonathan Kabak of the Oliver Hazard Perry in Rhode Island, and Captain Aaron Singh of New York Harbor School. This will be followed by a question-and-answer session where attendees can ask for clarification or more information!
This collaborative event is being held on February 9, 2022, from 3:45 to 4:45 pm during Tall Ship America’s 49th Annual Conference on Sail Training and Tall Ships. MPSEC members will be granted complimentary admission to this session so registration is required: MPSEC Registration – Tall Ships America. You can find out more information about the full Annual Conference program at Events – Tall Ships America.
Learning more about MARAD’s Centers of Excellence is a wonderful way to develop a pathway for students to gain visibility about the maritime industry and how they can become a part through education or vocational opportunities. Please plan to join us on February 9th, and while you register think about encouraging mariners and students to check out Tall Ships America’s Crew Resource Days on March 1 & 2 as additional opportunities to get engaged with maritime career opportunities.
