Blowin’ in the Wind- From Ferries to Super Tankers: Wind Propulsion is making a comeback

Join us for a conversation about the growing trend of wind propulsion in commercial shipping and pathways to decarbonize this global industry. All aboard the Adventure Cat, rated one of San Francisco’s “Must Do” activities to see the Golden Gate Bridge and surrounding sights. Now in their 28th season, Adventure Cat takes over 40,000 guests a year on their custom built catamarans for unforgettable sight-seeing excursions, and sailing 95% of the time on the power of the wind!

The line-up will feature talks by:

      Gavin Allwright, Secretary General of the Award-winning International Windship Association [IWSA] The world’s leading expert on the wind propulsion market development will present the current opportunities, latest developments in the sector and discuss the barriers and hurdles to still be overcome.



Jay Gardner, CEO of Wind+Wing Technologies 23+ years designing and operating USCG cert. sailing catamarans on San Francisco Bay has led to a proven method using computer-controlled, hard wing sails to provide a safe & reliable wind-assist hybrid ferry propulsion system.



There will be plenty of time for debate and discussion on these issues, along with refreshments.
