In 2024, NAMEPA seized the opportunity to enhance our impact by creating a regional ecosystem dedicated to advancing the maritime industry, marine environmental protection, and workforce development. We launched our Regions Initiative with a successful debut in Houston in February, hosted by the West Gulf Maritime Association (WGMA), and followed with a significant gathering and workshop in Washington D.C. in May, hosted by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) during National Maritime Week.
We are now excited to expand this initiative with the launch of our California Region on August 14th, hosted by the Los Angeles Maritime Institute (LAMI). This gathering and workshop will unite industry leaders, educators, and stakeholders to exchange insights, address regional priorities, and explore initiatives in community engagement, maritime sustainability, and workforce development.
