Houston TX- February 14, 2025 – The North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) will host its Marine Operations Seminar: Operations in a Period of Disruption” on March 5th at the Houston Pilots Association. This event will bring together industry leaders to examine maritime operations’ challenges, including cybersecurity, digitalization, alternative fuels, and security. As the maritime sector navigates ongoing disruptions, this seminar will provide critical insights into strategies for resilience and operational excellence.
Leading the seminar’s discussions, the Navigating Disruption panel will bring together top experts addressing key challenges in maritime operations. Angeliki Zisimatou, Technology Director for Cybersecurity at ABS, brings over 20 years of experience in the marine and offshore industries. She will provide insights into cybersecurity implementation strategies and regulatory compliance. Max Bobys, Vice President and Practice Leader at HudsonCyber, will present on managing cyber threats. With over 25 years of experience, he has led the development of cybersecurity risk management platforms, including CyberLogix and CyMetrics.
Joe Hughes, Chairman of the American Club and Chairman of NAMEPA, will discuss evolving risk factors in maritime operations and strategies for resilience. With nearly 29 years as chairman of the managers of The American Club, an International Group mutual, Joe also oversees Eagle Ocean Agencies, Inc., which operates the Eagle Ocean Marine and Eagle Ocean America insurance facilities. This panel will provide critical insights into the disruptions shaping the maritime industry and the strategies necessary to ensure operational resilience. Mauricio Garrido, President of T&T Salvage, will add dimension to the impact of digitalization on the maritime industry.
