Houston TX- February 7th, 2025 – The North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) will host its Marine Operations Seminar:
Operations in a Period of Disruption” on March 5th at the Houston Pilots Association. This seminar will address critical issues in maritime operations amid today’s evolving challenges. As the industry strives for a more sustainable future, ongoing disruptions continue to shape its path forward. We welcome all to attend this event!
A key highlight of seminar will feature the Port Houston Partners in Maritime Education (PHPME) and Workforce Development. As companies and organizations work to strengthen the talent pipeline, initiatives that connect students with maritime careers are more important than ever. Thisdiscussion will dive into workforce development successes, case studies, and impact of these efforts in the Houston community and how this model can be replicated on elsewhere.
The panel will be led by Molly Dushay, Executive Director of NAMEPA, who brings firsthand experience as an educator. She’ll be joined by:
- Jacquie Young-Hall, Maritime Education Outreach Manager, Port Houston
- John Stauffer, Associate Vice Chancellor – Maritime, San Jactino College and NAMEPA Board Member
- Captain Nate Swerdlin, Maritime Instructor, Texas City Independent School District
