HOUSTON, TX – January 18, 2024 — The North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) is holding its annual Houston Maine Operations Seminar, “Leaping into the Future: Challenges and Consequences in Maritime Operations” on February 29th, 2024 at the headquarters of the Houston Pilots in Houston from 1300 to 1700hrs. Hosted by the Houston Pilots, the seminar is designed for companies and industry leaders to take a closer look at the industry’s evolving challenges and the related consequences.
NAMEPA is proud to announce that Captain Matt Glass, the Second Officer of the Houston Pilots will welcome the delegates and kick off the discussion during the Regulatory Challenges and Consequences panel. He will be joined by NAMEPA’s Chairman, Joe Hughes of The American Club, Keith Letourneau, Partner, Blank Rome and Alejandro Trillo, CEO Maritime Procurement Services. The discussion of Future Fuels will be presented by Onur Semiz, Principal Engineer ABS Technology who will be joined by other panelists.
Other confirmed speakers include David Cummins, President, and CEO of Blue Sky Maritime Coalition who will speak on Digitalization Challenges and Consequences – Benefits and Opportunities. Additionally, NAMEPA’s own Education and Outreach Director Molly Dushay will speak on “Workforce Challenges and Consequences – Houston we have a problem!” Carleen Lyden Walker, Managing Partner, The Maritime Accelerator for Resilience (“MAR”) will conclude the conference discussion with Geopolitical Challenges and Consequences.
