NAMEPA Announces United States Coast Guard RDML (Select) Arex B. Avanni as Keynote Speaker at Maritime Operation Seminar
Houston TX- February 19, 2024 – The North American Marine Environment Protection Association’s (NAMEPA) is…
Welcome to 2024, where the maritime industry will continue to grow and evolve, increasing its efficiency and mitigating its impact on the marine environment. As it grows, so does NAMEPA!
2024 will see the expansion of NAMEPA’s membership and their engagement in our work. This year, we will be deepening the penetration of our programs in key maritime communities beginning with Houston in February, and expanding our regional focus to LA/Long Beach, New York and South Florida.
We shall gather often in 2024 beginning February 29th in Houston with our “Leaping into the Future of Maritime Operations” event, followed by our Safety at Sea conference in Washington D.C. which also features the USCG Benkert and AMVER Awards. In October we will hold our annual Marine Environment Protection Conference and Awards Dinner in New York. Additionally, throughout the year, we will be conducting our Safety at Sea webinar series.
Continuing the 300% growth in our Maritime Sustainability Passport (MSP), we look forward to more companies, organizations and individual engaging in this ESG self-assessment program as our industry focuses its efforts on sustainability.
Our support of our industry continues through our Lunch ‘n Learn programs, beach cleanups and community programming. Call us to find out about bringing these programs to your area!
One of our clear mandates for 2024 will be addressing the Mariner shortfall through our education programs and leadership of MPSEC (Maritime Primary and Secondary Education Coalition). We need to better inform the general public about the value of our industry as the engine of global trade, and the excellent careers available to them!
As we join together to Save Our Seas in 2024, remember that NAMEPA is here to support industry, promote sustainability, and grow the maritime workforce!
Wishing you a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year!
