ACTion Group Recertifies in NAMEPA’s Maritime Sustainability Passport Program

WESTON, CT – May 8, 2023 – The North American Marine Environment Protection Association’s (NAMEPA) “Maritime Sustainability Passport” (MSP) Certificate and Seal has been awarded to The ACTion Group for the second year in a row, announced Carleen Lyden Walker, Co-Founder and Executive Director of NAMEPA. After being the first company to certify under the upgraded program last year, The ACTion Group once again met the program requirements and have been presented their MSP Certificate and Seal. The program encompasses each of NAMEPA’s six Transparency Pillars in its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics.

Compliance and ESG Director Chris Kern remarked, “The ACTion Group is proud to receive the MSP Certificate and Seal for a second consecutive year. The ACTion Group successfully passed NAMEPA’s MSP Program and qualified for the MSP Seal, signifying the participant met or exceeded the program’s guidelines of best practices using ESG principles, and the company was awarded the MSP Certificate and Seal. Some of the program’s benefits include increased efficiency, stakeholder visibility, and positive global impact.

In 2021, NAMEPA’s MSP Program was awarded the 2021 Green4Sea Initiative Award. The Green4Sea award is given to an organization that has sparked, realized or significantly contributed with a specific initiative towards greener shipping. NAMEPA is extremely proud of its contribution to the maritime industry with its MSP Program being the first known standards program specifically structured for the maritime industry.
