NAMEPA Announces Speaker Lineup for Conference Navigating Sustainability: GHGs and ESG

February 26, 2023- Weston, CT – Carleen Walker, NAMEPA Co-Founder/CEO, announced the speaker lineup for its annual operations conference in Houston on March 2nd hosted by the Houston Pilots. The focus of the event is “Navigating Sustainability: GHGs and ESG” and is expected to appeal to shipowners, maritime professionals, and students searching for answers on emission reduction and sustainability solutions.

The conference will open with a welcome from the Houston Pilot’s Captain Clint Winegar, Presiding Officer for 2023 followed by remarks from NAMEPA’s Chairman, and Chairman of The American Club, Joe Hughes. The opening session on Regulatory issues will be moderated by Captain Doug Martin of SMIT and includes presentations from CAPT Amy Beach of the USCG and Blank Rome’s Keith LeTourneau. The Technical session, led by Kai Martin of The Pasha Group, will feature Jan Hagen Andersen of DNV on Future Fuels, Darren Shelton, Co-Founder of FuelTrust discussing “Measure to Mange” and David Cummins, CEO and President, Blue Sky Maritime Coalition.

The event will then move to Operational issues under the leadership of ABS’ Gareth Burton with the participation of Gurinder Singh, Director of Technology Sales, ABS WavesightTM, Cynthia Hudson, CEO HudsonAnalytix, and Andrzej Mos– HSEQ Superintendent / CSO Deputy, Siem Ship Management.  The final session on Societal will be chaired by Cargill’s Jan-Willem van den Dijssel who will be joined by SUNY Maritime College’s Dr. Rao Kowtha, and NAMEPA’s Marcela Crowley.
