An industry forum on the rapidly changing "airscape" for ship emissions

December 11, 2018 – A complimentary industry forum will be hosted by California State University Maritime Academy (Cal Maritime) and the North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 1300 – 1800 hours. The forum will focus on the rapidly changing "airscape" for ship emissions. Not since the transference from sail to steam has the marine industry seen such dramatic requirements to change its operational practices to meet regulatory, and societal, demands.

Cal Maritime and NAMEPA bring together industry, government and educators to discuss the regulatory framework impacting the industry over the next 10 years and challenges facing industry to meet these requirements and those of society. The forum includes a look into what options are available today and in the future. Students are invited to engage in the discussion as they will be heading into the industry to make an impact and guide the road ahead as the industry looks to comply with regulations, meet societal demands and drive sustainability in the future.

The forum is offered at no charge and open to students, industry, conservation groups, faculty, and other interested stakeholders. To register, go to www.namepa.net/event/whats-in-your-stack/.
