NAMEPA Receives 2nd Grant from Patagonia Environmental Grants and Support Program
(Westport, CT) The North American Marine Environmental Protection Association (NAMEPA) has received a grant from Patagonia’s Environmental Grants and Support Program for the second year. The ultimate goal of the project is “Save Our Seas” by encouraging an entire generation to become responsible stewards of the marine environment. NAMEPA’s Campus to Community Marine Environmental Stewards project will guide NAMEPA Campus Chapters in using the Advocate, Educate, Activate methodology to accomplish program objectives toward this goal.
The Patagonia Environmental Grants and Support Program gives 1% of their sales to support environmental organizations around the world, funding at the grassroots level in countries and communities where they have people on the ground.
NAMEPA Co-Founder/Executive Director Carleen Lyden-Kluss commented, “NAMEPA is honored that our collaboration with Patagonia to date has resulted in our receiving a second grant from this corporation that is world renowned for its efforts to protect the environment. This grant allows NAMEPA to continue our educational outreach toward the goal of activating communities to “Save Our Seas”. NAMEPA Chapter programs provide hands-on, interactive training and educational resources for chapter leaders to enable them to educate their members and the community on marine environment stewardship.”
