North American Marine Environment Protection Association and Philips Publishing announce GreenPacific Conference
NAMEPA is pleased to announce our partnership with Pacific Maritime Magazine as a supporting organization of GreenPacific, to be held at the Grand Hyatt Seattle on September 21st and 22nd.
This second annual GreenPacific Conference will provide a forum to discuss environmental best practices as they relate to marine transportation and terminal management, for people and cargo. The conference is aimed at the operations sector of the Pacific Coast maritime industry: ocean carriers and marine cargo terminal operators, tug and barge operators, passenger vessel operators …and those who serve them.
“Part of our mission is to support the environmentally responsible transport of people and the movement of marine cargo,” said NAMEPA Co-Founder and Executive Director Carleen Lyden-Kluss. “Pacific Maritime Magazine’s intent to bring together diverse stakeholder groups to work collaboratively on ‘green’ transportation solutions is laudable, and we want to lend our support to their initiative.”
The conference is expected to attract roughly 150 representatives from industry, labor, public port districts, regulatory agencies, federal, state and local legislators and policymakers to provide a forum for interactive dialogue between stakeholders, regulators and policymakers on environmental policy and practice.
“Public agencies, legislators and the private sector are the three key stakeholder groups necessary to make ‘green’ maritime transportation work” said Pacific Maritime Magazine Publisher and Philips Publishing President, Peter Philips. “GreenPacific is the only US conference specifically designed to bring these sectors together to discuss ‘green’ maritime alternatives to transportation challenges around the country, and we are delighted that NAMEPA has seen fit to support our effort.”
For more information on GreenPacific visit www.GreenPacific.org, or call Philips Publishing at (206) 284-8285.
